New Route to Market for European Grain

Following the success of new bulk loading system in South America and Australia, several companies in Europe are looking at alternatives to ge their grain to market. For too long to high capical, silos and bulk loaders provided the only way to export; Now there is an alternative.

Following the lead of many others like Argentina, Africa and Australia, companies in Romania are looking into a new system of bulk loading called Containerised Bulk Handling (CBH). This article shows through a case study how farmers, traders and logistics companies can use the new system to get their grain to market.

Dry Bulk magazine reports on the revolutionary grain loading system at Terminal Puerto Rosario

In September, Dry Bulk magazine reported on the revolutionary grain loading system used by Terminal Puerto Rosario and became the first terminal in the world to use containerised bulk handling to export grain.

The terminal, located along the banks of the Parana River is a multi-purpose terminal serving the region’s growing commerce. With grain being the most important commodity in Argentina to export, the terminal set about a solution to conventional export methods to reduce material loss during the loading, transport and unloading process, reduce clean-up and eradicate contamination of the grain from unwanted rodents.
