RAM Spreaders Equipment
RAM Spreaders is a company that specializes in designing and manufacturing crane attachments for various applications in the port industry. The company was established in 1972 by Robert Arthur Mills, a visionary engineer who saw the potential of developing innovative solutions for container handling. Since then, RAM Spreaders has grown from a small workshop in Liverpool, England to a global enterprise with offices and factories in several countries, including China, Singapore, Germany, and the USA. RAM Spreaders has a reputation for delivering high-quality products that meet the diverse needs of its customers around the world. RAM Spreaders is proud to be a part of the port community and to contribute to its development and efficiency.
RAM Spreaders manufactures container spreaders for ship to shore cranes that are hydraulic and electric powered. Depending on the lifting requirements, RAM spreaders can provide customers with single or twin lift container handling spreaders. RAM’s 2940 ship to shore spreader is our most successful product to date, designed to handle 20′, 40′, 45′ containers or two 20′ containers at once. The spreader has a maximum safe working load of 51 tons or 2 x 32.5 tons for twin lifts. The RAM 2940 is also designed to work with the SingFlex ship to shore headblock, which is designed to allow two container spreaders to operate at once to improve the productivity of the ship to shore operation.
RAM Spreaders offers our customers single and twin lift mobile harbour crane spreaders, both single and twin lift designs are powered hydraulically. The equipment is designed for arduous container handling operations. Our mobile harbour crane customers can be found all across the world, particularly in Africa where our heavy duty mobile harbour crane spreader is popular.
Following our tradition of innovation, RAM Spreaders developed their RAM Revolver for containerised bulk handling. The RAM Revolver is a rotating spreader designed to unload dry bulk materials efficiently, and reduce material loss whilst generating zero dust.
Our telescopic pipe spreader is designed for offshore gas pipe handling. The pipe spreader can handle 1,2 or 3 pipes per cycle depending on the diameter and weight of the pipe. The spreader is equipped with the latest technologies to ensure ease of control and safe handling of the gas pipes. RAM Spreaders has recently secured a large order for the spreader and will be put to use at multi-purpose ports and offshore vessels.
Port automation is a hot topic at the moment, the last major challenge at the port is automating the removal and replacement of container twistlocks. RAM Spreaders has designed and developed an automated twistlock handling machine, PinSmart. The machine will improve the safety at the quayside and efficiency.
