RAM Spreaders delivered to APM Terminals (TEC2) in Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico, a total of 49 Spreaders

Consisting of 9 twin lift ship to shore spreaders, 25 ARMG plus 2 RMG RAM 3540 All Electric Spreaders, 7 RAM Twin-40 ship to shore headblocks and 2 RAM Over-heights.

APM Terminals won a 32 year concession in Lazaro Cardenas with an investment of approximately $ 900 million to design, finance, construct, operate and maintain the new specialized semi-automated deep water container terminal. The project is 3 phased, which in its first phase will have a capacity of 1.2 million TEU. The semi-automated facility will be a first of its kind in Latin America. Mexico´s government is determined to double port capacity within the next 6 years and APMT TEC2 will play a fundamental role in reaching this goal.

RAM Spreaders has a proven record of over 40 years of experience supplying robust, high performance and reliable crane spreaders to all major global port operators worldwide. Additionally, RAM spreaders has a complete team of professionals in the region to provide sales and after sales service support whenever is required. RAM’s senior Latin American management team is based in the region to provide local support and close contact with customers.

Based on purely technical and operational requirements, RAM Spreaders developed a set of ship to shore spreaders and yard spreader solutions geared to satisfy cost effectively the long term needs of APM Terminals.

An important part of the order for Lazaro Cardenas is the ship to shore headblock for STS Cranes, first of its kind in Latin America. It brings outstanding performance, control and future proof capabilities to handle containers in twin 40ft mode, avoiding the need for expensive and complex dual hoist cranes. All APM Terminals TEC2’s ship to shore cranes were shipped from factory, ready to use RAM’s Twin40 Headblock.

Finally, a common feature among all RAM spreaders is its technological electrical open source platform. All the spreader functions are controlled by ASi communications. This simplifies the installation of electrical components, providing efficient diagnostics and making it easy to feed data to the crane’s control system. This all in itself translates into easier and low cost of maintenance over time.

RAM Spreaders will continue to serve and strengthen the relation globally to provide nothing but high quality standards of equipment and service.
